Job Description: 

Responsible for performing topical analyses on broad range of strategic and tactical capacities ranging from customer relationship management to web analytics and supply chain optimization. Work on rich, cross-functional data sets for long-term evolution of REI’s analytics capability. Build capacity and insights using a variety of analytical methods to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Develop metrics and studies to quantify the value of different aspects of business processes and consumer behavior. Query relational databases (SQL) and automate and maintain processes to extract and integrate data from multiple, heterogeneous sources. Integrate internally- and externally-produced unstructured, semi-structured, and relational data sources. Build and maintain processes to acquire, transform, and curate multiple types of data necessary for analysis and insights. Translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement. Cultivate and nurture critical business relationships to align data science practice to company strategy. Design and deliver data science products in support of key company initiatives while constantly grooming and re-defining the data science roadmap. Foster cross-functional communication, leveraging analytical output to influence all levels of the organization, with responsibility for executing data science workflow and internal business relationship management. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or the foreign degree equivalent; and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience developing analytics-based solutions to business problems, including leading the development of complex client-based analytical and technical solutions spanning large organizations and leveraging a global delivery model to execute analytical workflow; OR Master’s degree in one of these fields with 3 years of above mentioned experience. 3 years of experience with SQL and relational database models. 3 years of experience with Python or Java and experience developing and deploying code in large-scale production systems. 1 year of experience with R or SAS. 1 year of development and implementation experience with each of the following tools and/or technologies: Hadoop, Map Reduce, HBASE/HIVE, Basic Spark, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft VBA. 1 year of experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or D3 and technical and functional experience with order management systems in a multi-channel retail environment. 

Experience may be gained concurrently.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
