REI is looking for a Core Platform DevOps Software Engineering Intern to contribute to REI’s success by helping automate our AWS foundational Cloud practice, build out CICD pipelines for DevTeams and help in our new API Management platform where we are creating a common platform to help connect in more real time with our customers.

Throughout the course of your internship experience, you will work alongside a supportive team that will help you elevate and grow in a fun, high-energy environment. Under the supervision of your Manager and an Engineering lead in the team, you will gain insights into the key functions of your team as it relates to REI’s broader strategy and vision. 

Examples of our Intern projects may include:

  • AWS Cloud automation and tuning:
    • We will ramp you into the exciting world of AWS. We will also provide you insight into the industry leading tooling we use to help protect REI services in AWS. This project would be to help us inject automated remediation steps for sub-standard CloudSec practices.. This would also include scripting alerting for certain Security conditions.
  • Onboarding teams to Continuous Delivery tooling
    • As part of modern software delivery practices, Dev teams are increasingly leveraging automation for delivery of their code and binaries. We will give you an opportunity to onboard a team(s) to our Continuous Delivery (CD) platform.. This will give you great immersion into pipeline triggers, test automation, infrastructure pipelines and much more.
  • API Management
    • We are building out one of the industry leading API Management platforms (Apigee) for use within REI.. The value this brings is tremendous as it offers the ability for our mobile and 3rd party apps to gain access via RestAPI endpoints to our key data. These APIs are used to then trigger real time marketing engagements to our customers. In this project you will support the needs of the Apigee platform build out, inclusive of CICD tooling, Developer Portal build out and test automation practices.

Qualifications and expectations:

  • Currently majoring in CS or CSE undergrad
  • Coursework completed in some or all of the following areas: JavaScript, Python, Building in Cloud (AWS)
  • Candidates should have a strong aptitude in analytics and problem solving.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
