REI is looking for a Digital Planning and Analytics Intern to contribute to REI’s success by working as part of a cross-functional team and actively participate in day-to-day functions of the Digital Planning and Analytics department. Throughout the course of your internship experience, you will own and drive a challenging and relevant project to solve real-time business challenges. Under the supervision of your Manager, and as a key member of the Digital Planning and Analytics department, you will gain insights into the key functions of your team as it relates to REI’s broader strategy and vision. 

The Digital Planning and Analytics team produces, manages, advises, and implements various analytics tools and strategies so that we and our stakeholders can make data driven decisions on how to improve REI.com. Throughout the internship you will have an opportunity to work beside analysts and architects from across the team to help support A/B Tests and other research analyses and create your own meaningful visualizations.

Non-Local Candidates: 
Relocation assistance & intern housing are not provided for this role- all costs & arrangements will be the responsibility of the intern for the duration of the internship.


Duration:

  • 10-12 weeks (mid-June - early September)

Job functions include:

  • Helping to conduct a/b and multivariate tests, and report results in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Tracking, analyzing and communicating customer, campaign, website, mobile, and sales behavior and delivering behavioral insights to stakeholders in the E-commerce division.
  • Constructing datasets for analysis from internal data warehouse
  • Learning how to translate business questions and KPIs into analytics specifications
  • Learning how stakeholders/analysts are advised to consume data to build data driven insights that contribute to REI’s success.
  • Building compelling data visualizations using programs such as Tableau and Sigma to help stakeholders answer questions and anticipate opportunities with analyst supervision.

Qualifications and expectations:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree (or recently graduated within 6 months of internship start date) in Statistics, Analytics, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics (or related field). 
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex subject matter to audiences, both orally and in writing
  • Strong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional attitude. Experience working in a team to accomplish goals
  • Awareness of hypothesis testing concepts and practices (representative data, sample sizes, statistical significance, etc.)
  • Interest in or experience with one or more data languages (such as R, Python, or SQL)
  • Experience visualizing data in programs such as Tableau, Sigma and/or Excel
  • Proven problem-solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection
  • Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction and altering priorities

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
