The Director, Retail Operations – OMNI Integration and Innovation is responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance for the Retail Operations team. A primary objective of the position is to integrate retail operations with OMNI enhancements and solve customer problems utilizing the breadth of resources available in retail operations as well as cross divisional partners.

 

Leading the Way

As a member of the Retail Leadership Team this role, develops a deep understanding of, effectively communicates and broadly supports execution of divisional strategies and priorities.

  • Translates company strategies into actionable departmental plans and executes successful delivery.
  • Works cross-divisionally to drive execution of specific divisional and company strategies, initiatives and projects.
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Supports the implementation of divisional programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results.
  • Establishes and maintains visibility within the department.
  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action.

 

Your Planning & Navigating Requirements

  • Shape and develop operational strategy
  • Optimization of customer satisfaction/loyalty through improved operations.
  • Continually evolve the operational layout and practices of our physical stores in response to changes in customer preferences and economic climate.
  • Help identify opportunities and implement process improvement for the division.
  • Ensure continual improvement of retail operations by researching best practices and identifying new/needed skills, processes, or methods.
  • Work closely with other members of the Retail Leadership Team to establish how retail operations will continue to support the short- and long-term objectives of the company.
  • Work with the Retail Leadership Team to drive operational change through the organization.
  • Build an organizational culture in which there is a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Advise the Retail Leadership Team on strategic business development and key planning issues that impact the operations of the division.
  • Determine resource allocation among division.
  • Keep the DVP of Retail informed about business activities, performance, opportunities, and recommended courses of action.
  • Responsible for supporting the DVP of Retail with strategic and operational planning and by ensuring that required infrastructure and support services are in place.
  • Serves as critical strategy planning link between Corporate and the field organization on all operational issues for the division.
  • Lead team to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the company's overall strategy.
  • Challenge basic assumptions underlying division's operations
  • Ensures clarity, understanding, and commitment from all stakeholders.
  • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor division performance against performance goals to ensure progress is being made and corrective action, if necessary, is taken.
  • Implementation of productivity/quality metrics programs designed to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Responsible for assisting with the annual operating and capital budgeting process.
  • Assist in development of operational goals which are aggressive, yet obtainable, and tied to long-term goals of the company.
  • Monitor and leverage operational performance information/data to drive continuous improvement efforts. Identify when additional information is required to more effectively monitor and improve performance.
  • Along with your team, define, design, plan, and manage projects in the operations departments in support of Company Objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Standard Operating Procedures are in place to control critical aspects of retail process.
  • Responsible for ensuring all risk management, safety procedures/practices are in place and ongoing safety improvement is maintained in division.

  • Experience in strategic planning as it relates to retail operations/capabilities/capacity.
  • Strong Project Management experience.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
  • Ability to embrace, facilitate, and drive change through the operations
  • Extensive experience in retail operations and strong knowledge of all requirements of a retail store (building, systems etc).
  • Must have proven success in leading multimillion-dollar sales volumes in multi-site environment or equivalent.
  • 7+ years in regional leadership experience or equivalent.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
