The Role: We have experience and gear that our customers love. We are looking for people who can help us solve hard problems in on-line payments and checkout areas, innovate across many dimensions, and simplify our customers search for outdoor gear and experiences. Prior business analyst or PM experience with consumer payments and checkout or cart management is highly desirable.


This job contributes to REI’s success by planning, developing, managing and executing small, medium or large, moderately complex information technology projects, using mostly agile (scrum) and sometimes lean methodologies (including rapid prototyping and building MVPs to test and learn). The PM also needs to act in the capacity of a Scrum Master for the team working closely with the Product Owner. Prefer candidates with some business analyst background (or a Software Development background in the absence of BA experience). Projects have both a business and a technology focus. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

  • Initiates, plans, controls and closes Digital projects utilizing REI’s project management methodology
  • Plans the project in detail, organizes the project team and works with resource managers to acquire and schedule resources
  • Challenges and Inspires the delivery team to deliver innovative, customer focused solutions
  • Provides daily assistance to the delivery team, removing obstacles and helping with priorities
  • Experience working with agile (scrum) and sometimes lean methodologies (including rapid prototyping and building MVPs to test and learn) and comfortable navigating in a fast-changing business landscape 
  • Great attention to details
  • Some payments, checkout or order management experience is highly preferred
  • Experience coordinating efforts of resources in a matrixed team structure and managing projects with budgets $500K-$2M range
  • Some experience developing team level plans, portfolio planning and budgeting is desired 
  • Skills in resource management, project prioritization, problem solving, issues & risks management and mediation
  • Experience developing team level plans, portfolio planning and budgeting
  • Ability to manage and engage stakeholders, identify dependencies and impacts
  • Demonstration of strong oral & written communications, teaching, facilitation & negotiation, leadership & influencing skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a highly collaborative team

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
