As a Lean/Agile Coach in Information Technology, you will be key to the success of REI’s exciting Digital transformation, as well as IT’s Lean transformation.  You will coach and train individual contributors, leaders, and teams on Agile principles, Scrum, and Lean principles, behaviors, methods and tools. 

Lean Transformation
  • Leads Lean transformation activities across all IT departments (and other enterprise departments, as necessary)  
  • Manages development of Lean management systems (using metrics, visual management, leader standard work, etc.)
  • Builds Lean leadership capabilities in IT leaders
  • Teaches, coaches and models a problem-solving culture across IT
  • Provides software development teams and IT individuals with Agile consulting and coaching (e.g. Scrum, Agile principles, fast value, frequent feedback, prioritization, and estimating techniques)
  • Creates custom continuous improvement and Lean organization training materials for use in workshops and training classes
  • Builds sustainability into IT by training and coaching change agents
  • Manages overall lifecycle of IT Lean transformation and process improvement events/workshops

Continuous Improvement - General
  • Acts as an internal IT consultant to more efficiently enable the business through value-added activities, problem-solving and a Lean mindset
  • Seeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean information, materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by leadership, and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvements
  • Ensures that process improvement objectives, specific goals, measures, and metrics are established
  • Provides appropriate visibility/status of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs
  • Leverages own organization and business knowledge to market and communicate the benefits of Continuous Improvement and operates with substantial latitude for independent action or decision
  • Stays up to date in the application of process improvement tools and techniques, and networks with other organizations for shared learnings

Bring your passion and expertise

  • 3+ years experience as a ScrumMaster or Agile coach
  • 3+ years experience in a Lean IT environment
  • 2+ years driving and implementing change/process improvements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Lean principles, methods, and tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Agile principles, methods, and tools
  • Group/team facilitation:  experience facilitating groups of 4-25 people towards common goals
  • Demonstrated experience coaching individuals and/or teams on Agile and/or Lean practices
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
