This job contributes to REI’s success by maintaining a clean, safe, and aesthetic work environment for all employees.  The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for maintaining the Distribution Center’s appearance through processing and transporting recyclable materials and general housekeeping functions as needed. The role will frequently participate in supporting additional facility functions. Here is what you can expect to do as a Maintenance Clerk.
  • Sorts, transports, and disposes of both recyclable and non-recyclable materials from pre-determined main floor accumulation points throughout the facility to the appropriate conveyor, compactor, and/or dock door.
  • Sorts, stages, and palletizes recyclable cartons for ease of storage, retrieval, and re-use for building operations.
  • Operates the appropriate powered equipment to perform routine and special housekeeping functions in support of the facilities cleanliness and safe work environment.
  • Sets up and takes down the conference rooms in support of facility functions as requested.
  • Compliant with all current safety policies and procedures, including the proper use personal protection equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
  • Conducts daily tie-in information with the oncoming shift using the established reporting format.
  • Identifies, responds, and communicates with Facility team on daily and emergent support functions that need additional efforts to maintain recycling, housekeeping, and floor support levels of service.
  • Functions independently and efficiently in a variety of tasks throughout the warehouse while adhering to and maintaining schedules and routines.

  • These are the skills and experiences we look for in our Maintenance Floor Clerk:
    • 0+ years’ experience operating warehouse powered equipment including lift trucks, pallet jacks, sweeper/scrubber, conveyors, powered hand tools and compactors.
    • 0+ years’ experience operating computers to communicate and facilitate the passing of information through established reporting formats
    • Actively participates and collaborates with others on the team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.  
    • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
