REI is committed to becoming a fully inclusive, antiracist, multicultural organization. To fulfill our brand promise of enabling a life well-lived outside for everyone, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate shared values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism.

The Principal Digital Product Manager will drive the product vision, roadmap, discovery, and delivery for the payment platforms that serve REI’s business and customers.

In this role, you’ll be expected to own the product vision for the Payment Platform and clearly develop and articulate a strategy and roadmap to the team and stakeholders, including senior leadership, as you make progress in advancing the vision of the platform.

You will lead a cross-functional team including designers, engineers, and architects, and partner closely with a broad range of senior colleagues across the Co-op to deliver the payment platform that serves our customers and the Co-op.

You'll join a fast-paced, growing, and passionate community where you'll be empowered to define best practices, discover and deliver impactful solutions to our customers, and drive the mission of the Co-op.

REI is a different kind of company. As a co-op, we put purpose before profits and act in the long-term interests of our members. We believe time outside is fundamental to a life well lived, and as a member of the REI Experiences team, you’ll contribute to REI’s mission to connect every person to the power of the outdoors and engage them in the fight to protect it.

How You’ll Be Successful

Customer-Led and Data-Driven Strategic Mindset

  • Consistently advocate effectively for the customer's point of view during product ideation. Serve as the team's expert on the user and their needs.
  • Adept at clarifying ambiguity and breaking down complex problems to develop clear, compelling strategic plans.

Test and Learn Mentality
  • Foster a product culture that values continuous testing and learning and welcomes failure as a pathway to innovation.
  • Create an iterative roadmap where experiments are leveraged to consistently refine and focus future direction and resourcing.

Transform our payment platform while bringing people together:
  • Collaborate fluently with design and engineering. Recognize dependencies, remove barriers, and ensure smooth product delivery.
  • Effectively communicate and align with multiple product teams, stakeholders, and executives to drive towards common goals.
  • Productively challenge the status quo, champion change, and influence others to change.
  • Build rapport across the team and stakeholders.
Bring your passion and expertise
  • 10+ years of Product Management experience with a proven track record of delivering payment products and platforms serving multiple channels.

  • Experience working collaboratively with architects, engineers, UX designers, and data analysts.
  • Technical fluency and ability to clearly communicate user and business benefits for various technologies; comfort communicating technology concepts, trade-offs and new opportunities with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to use a range of discovery tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-serve data needs and identify sources of information that would strengthen current data infrastructure.
