This job contributes to REI’s success by managing REI’s relationship with our 3PL providers. This role will work closely with our DC Operations, Logistics and cross-divisional partners to utilize our 3PL providers to process goods for our stores and customers. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a Statement of Work, and performance and service metrics to drive service and efficiency for customers and cross-divisional partners. This job models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.


  • Develop clear Statement of Work for 3PL engagement
  • Build and establish performance standards to hold third party vendors accountable for performance and deliverables
  • Develop, communicate and monitor service and budget KPI’s and metrics
  • Monitor and report 3PL performance against budget, including weekly reporting, implementing effective plans in order to meet or exceed KPIs
  • Meet with 3PL regularly to review performance and partner to identify obstacles and implement continuous improvement initiatives and effective and timely solutions
  • Manage inventory damages and chargebacks based on the contractual agreements in place with the 3PL
  • Collaborate with Logistics team on the inbound and outbound flow of goods to and from the 3PL locations
  • Analyze current order volumes and partner with Logistics to recommend delivery schedule changes to balance expense and service
  • Proactively communicate service disruptions with cross-divisional partners
  • Ensure inventory accuracy at 3PL sites through the implementation of cycle counts and physical inventory count
  • Serve as POC for all cross-divisional partners and 3PL communication and escalation
  • Audit monthly 3PL billing for accuracy in a timely manner
  • Travel to 3PL locations as necessary to provide leadership and support

Bring your passion and expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or applicable experience
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Program or Project Manager concurrently leading and managing: a fulfillment operation and inventory control, third-party vendors and multiple site operations in a fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years’ experience using Warehouse Management Systems and SAP
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/ Excellent Analytical skills Intermediate skills and experience with Visual Basic Script and/or SQL, SharePoint Certification in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process improvement method
  • Proven change management leadership

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
