This job contributes to REI’s success by managing, monitoring and maintaining the system infrastructure for the SAP environment. Installs, tests, implements, and supports SAP infrastructure systems. Diagnoses and resolves highly complex issues regarding system configurations, including hardware and software installations, setups, researching error messages and implementing fixes. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

  • Acts as a technical lead or consultant on all projects, including highly complex projects. Responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems on multiple projects.
  • Researches new technologies or methods in SAP to provide architecture roadmaps.
  • Acts as information resource and internal consultant with SAP systems by performing systems analysis and requirements gathering.
  • Provides technical guidance to ensure that installed systems are working effectively and that proposed systems will meet organizations’ future needs.
  • Develops detailed plans, diagrams and documentation, and implements company-wide projects, communicating with and coordinating among vendors, end users and Information Technology staff. Projects may be highly complex, introduce new technology, or have advanced requirements for integration with other systems.
  • Documents and enforces departmental policies and standards; develops and maintains system solutions that maximize quality, performance, availability, scalability and security.
  • Evaluates new versions or updates to systems to determine feasibility for use, prepares detailed plans for adoption, and makes recommendations to IT management.
  • Performs problem and incident resolution for SAP platform. Performs approved end-user requested work as needed.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology staff and business units to plan new installations and upgrades to SAP platforms.
  • Acts as a technical project coordinator on large/medium-sized complex projects and coordinates own task planning for projects while keeping management informed.
  • With little or no supervision, installs, tests, implements and supports new versions or updates to hardware or SAP software; requires high levels of coordination with other IT groups, vendors and REI stakeholders.
  • Responsible for proactive system monitoring and tuning for all SAP systems. This includes key performance indicators and trend reporting. Provides leadership to ensure changes follow change management policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and oversees work provided by vendors on the most complex system installations or upgrades.
  • Plans power, network and environmental solutions for new hardware.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, documents and maintains operating systems, working on highly complex work tasks or project assignments.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize and complete work with little or no supervision while keeping management fully informed of plans and progress. May coordinate and oversee activities of project team or less experienced team members.
  • Prepares required documentation for the portion of work assigned.
  • Installs and tests new operating systems, as well as upgrades.
  • Formulates systems scope and objectives and resolves highly complex technical issues.
  • Identifies and provides recommendations and champions system process improvements.
  • Acts as a mentor and a source for direction, training, and guidance for less experienced departmental staff.

Required Skills and Experience 
  • 5+ years Information Technology experience in Systems, Database or Software Engineering. 
  • 3+ years SAP Basis Administration
  • Experience with implementing or upgrading SAP and full life-cycle implementations.
  • Experience in monitoring ABAP dumps and database locks.
  • Experience in SAP kernel updates, SAP plug-in updates, landscape management, transports, printer setups and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in creating SAP client copies and deletions
  • Experience in using SAP Solution Manager for overall system monitoring and central user administration.
  • Advanced experience in the implementation and support of operating system level software and software installation.
  • Advanced knowledge of appropriate solutions and processes for monitoring, tuning, backup/recovery of systems in a SAP environment.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 service requirement. 
  • Ability in all areas of technical writing skills for information or infrastructure systems.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent training and experience preferred.
  • Experience with UNIX scripting and database administration.

The pay for this role is: $111000 - $177500 per year .

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
