This job contributes to REI’s success by engaging, contributing, and sharing in the success of REI’s Accounts Payable team. This role’s primary focus is reconciliation of REI payables to vendor receivables through information gathering, research and resolution actioning. This role is responsible for driving continuous process improvement, shared implementation of and leveraging technology, and providing outstanding customer service. This role is responsible for working with the SAP and Ariba procure-to-pay systems, engaging with finance and cross divisional team members, and partnering with our internal customers and vendors. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

  • Verifies and investigates discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts with vendor statements and partnering with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Acts as a liaison between Merchandising, Inventory Accounting, Vendor Operations, and Procurement team members to resolve discrepancies
  • Supports vendor data clean-up and additional data cleansing and analysis
  • Identifies transactions contributing to GR/IR (goods receipt/invoice receipt) and AP sub ledger accuracy
  • Monitors, analyzes and validates complex data including historical invoice deductions (credit memos) in response to receiving shortages, post-receipt adjustments
  • Contemplates root causes driving GR/IR imbalances and partners with others to drive corrective actions.
  • Special tasks as assigned and participate in projects or other Accounts Payable related activities as needed
  • Maintains Company and employee confidence by keeping information confidential

Bring your passion and expertise
  • 2+ years full cycle accounts payable experience, preferably in a P2P environment
  • 5+ years’ experience using financial systems, preferably SAP, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • 5+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • 3+ years accounts receivable or collections experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and provide assistance
  • Consistently demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve and/or escalate conflict using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality surrounding sensitive customer or company information
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions to support the direction taken by others at REI. Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.

The pay for this role is: $24.38 - $36.59 per hour .

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
