Role Description 
The Customer & Commerce Platforms team is looking for a Sr. Product Design Manager. In this role, you will be a strategic leader, resolving complex problems through effective communication, collaboration, and team management. You will work in close partnership with cross-functional partners to provide thought leadership, design practice guidance, and impactful experiences that are highly valued by our customers and drives business results. 
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded Product leader who can conceptualize the big picture as well as drive detailed design development. You should have a proven record of strong team leadership, innovative thinking, a history of using design to drive new ideas and the ability to help your team to make the right design decisions. You should be passionate about the growth and success of your team, developing the careers of the people you serve. Candidates must be proactive, responsive, flexible and able to succeed in a fast-paced, transforming, collaborative environment without supervision. 

Responsibilities
• Partners with Product Management and Engineering to align UX vision and activities with business goals. 
• Responsible for overall team performance and health, resource allocation, project prioritization, and building a culture of design excellence. 
• Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in both personal and organizational goals.
• Leads product strategy, task & dependency analysis, scheduling, and risk mitigation plans - cultivates a healthy design process. 
• Runs an effective and efficient UX operation through strategic planning, continuous optimization, and removing obstacles for team members. 
• Partners with cross-functional peers to align UX vision and activities with business goals - finds new opportunities and problems to solve. 
• Contributes to the development of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages. 
• Effectively communicate team's product goals and connect related projects across the company so that outcomes or joint decisions can be resolved quickly. 
• Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action.

Bring your passion and expertise

Minimum Qualifications 
• 10+ years experience in UX, interaction design, information architect, Service design or similar. 
• 5+ years experience in UX management, collaboration, communicating and influencing design strategy. 
• Proven problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations when designing for platforms. 
• Proficient at building and shipping features/products at a division level, leading the end-to-end experience across a variety of platforms. 
• Demonstrable track record in leading strategic thinking across a department, developing goals, identifying opportunities and outcomes while continuously developing relationships with cross-functional peers. 
• Interaction Design experience defining and evangelizing how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs, plus consideration of how innovation will scale. 
• Visual Design experience with a novel grasp of leveraging design standards and how these elements impact experiences. 
• Experience presenting work to a executives, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts 
• A portfolio demonstrating excellent UX design skills for solving complex problems with clear results. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or similar area, or equivalent practical experience.

• Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work. 
• Senior people management, team development, recruiting and org building experience. 
• Experience growing a strategic design practice within design teams. 
• Organizational and analytical experience.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
