This job is expected to keep up to date with trends and explore new opportunities. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for balancing multiple projects simultaneously and will travel to various locations to verify and/or execute projects. This job applies to multiple functions under the Store Experience team. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

  • Lead assigned projects and individuals assigned to projects or programs; leadership may include providing direct support and mentorship to PM II, PM I, and Coordinators on various tasks in addition to all Store Experience team members associated with the project or program including accurate budget planning, reconciliation, ordering, tracking and reporting projects to completion.
  • Accountable to develop templates, track, prepare and report on all departmental projects in alignment with VM Project Manager(s) and provides regular reporting to leadership.
  • Ensure objectives of the project are successfully completed through effective task assignments, collaboration with internal, cross-divisional, and external partners and adhering to REI’s project management templates and aligned processes.
  • Collaborates and advises leadership in the overall development of strategies, planning, and implementation to meet both overall business and marking objectives to assure completion.
  • Delivers on project objectives, and leads effective collaboration with internal, cross-divisional, and external partners.
  • Leads cross-divisional meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure objectives have been clearly delivered and are being acted upon. Informs Store Experiences and Visual Merchandising leadership of any changes to original plan.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the content associated with the project.
  • Responds to and/or coordinates inquiries on an agreed upon specified time frame.
  • Travel to various locations; some trips may require multiple destinations including locations outside of the U.S.
  • Completes other projects as assigned by manager.

Bring your passion and expertise

  • 10+ years cross-divisional planning, project management experience in a retail environment preferable, with the ability to maintain spreadsheets and any other internal filling systems.
  • 10+ years understanding of multi-channel marketing, retail experience and understanding of Store Design in the retail environment.
  • BA or AA in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management or related degree preferred.
  • Experience with space planning as it relates to retail.
  • Project management skills including measurement, reporting and financial analysis.
  • Ability to travel nationally approximately 30% of the time with the possibility for international travel.
  • Ability to create and maintain process systems, documentations and support tools.
  • Advanced Computer Skills: Excel, Project Tracking programs (such as Workfront, Smartsheet or Microsoft Project) and Outlook.
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
