As the Software Engineering Manager of Mobile Applications, you’ll contribute to REI’s success by leading a team of engineers, architects, scrum masters, and managers to create best in class mobile experiences for our customers and employees on iOS and Android.

  • Lead teams using agile practices to develop customer and employee applications for iOS and Android platforms, including services and APIs.
  • Align and drive technology roadmaps that deliver against strategic objectives.
  • Develop labor and engineering strategies to support growth of mobile apps and adoption
  • Form strong partnerships with product, design, QA, and other teams to ensure cohesion and collaboration to achieve great products.
  • Perform 1-1s and manage employee career growth
  • Hire and onboard contract and FTE new-hires into the Co-op
  • Assist/drive related process improvement (onboarding, feature development, etc.)
  • Ensure best practices for process and coding are shared across teams
  • Facilitate communication within team and across teams and all stakeholders
  • Hands-on manager contributing to the code base.
  • Provide technical direction when needed.
  • Servant leader
  • Responsible for finances including reconciliation of forecasts to actuals.
  • Vendor contract negotiations.

Bring your passion and expertise

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • 5+ years leading teams and other managers
  • Experienced in leadership within an agile environment
  • 5+ years of software development experience on native iOS or Android (both would be ideal)
  • Experience working on consumer-facing products

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
