The Strategy team plays a critical role in developing REI’s short and long term enterprise strategies and works cross-functionally with all divisions and our senior leadership team on a wide-range of high priority initiatives. Through consumer, market, financial, and operational analysis, you will help deliver enterprise insights that influence our current and potential strategic initiatives, drive planning and decision-making, and enable a rigorous evaluation of our business.    

The Sr Analyst - Strategy & Corporate Development is a unique opportunity to join REI’s Strategy team and will work closely with Strategy leadership in helping support REI’s organic and non-organic growth strategies. This role will be responsible for conducting research to identify adjacencies and partnership opportunities, monitoring key competitive threats and macro trends, supporting due diligence review and investment memos, and providing general analytical and reporting support for the business cases backing our enterprise strategic initiatives. This job contributes to REI’s growth by surfacing non-traditional business opportunities and ensuring our strategic objectives are grounded in solid analytical frameworks and insights.


  • Support the development and execution of Co-op’s strategic growth initiatives through means of partnership, investment, M&A, and evaluation of new business models
  • Conduct primary and secondary research on potential partnership opportunities & acquisition targets
  • Build financial models, create business cases, and analyze large quantities of data to drive actionable insights for Senior Management decisions
  • Partner with and drive cross-functional efforts in all phases of execution including diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, planning and integration
  • Manages existing industry and competitive intelligence data providers and evaluates new tools, data sources and reports
  • Creates reports and presentations for senior leaders and the Board of Directors regarding key strategic initiatives as well as competitive, retail, and industry trends
  • Works cross-divisionally with merchandising, digital, marketing, and retail teams to share key analyses and insights that drive strategy and support strategic initiative development
  • Conducts ad-hoc analyses as needed to support enterprise and divisional strategy development 


Bring your passion and expertise

  • BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience supporting industry assessments, competitive analysis, modeling, financial analysis, and managing deal processes
  • 3+ years work experience within the retail/consumer, finance, technology, investment banking, corporate development, venture capital, or management consulting fields preferred                                     
  • Strategic, big picture, innovative thinker and intellectually curious problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with all levels of the organization         
  • Resourceful in gathering and synthesizing new information from a variety of sources
  • Strong analytical mindset, ability to generate actionable insights, and tell a story from data
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and enjoys working on and is able to manage a wide range of projects and subject matters
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Tableau preferred
  • Enjoys spending time outside!

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
