This job contributes to REI’s success by driving the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns, programs, and content across REI’s digital properties. This position will manage and develop a cross-functional team of site marketers, project managers and web producers and will drive the strategy, management, measurement, and execution for marketing campaign, offer, promotion and program content.  The Sr. Manager, Site Marketing thrives on building relationships throughout all levels of leadership and is always an advocate for the customer.  This role will lead strategic projects, drive collaboration across multiple teams, and possess an ability to drive innovation through curiosity and influence while building trust. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape, possess strategic analytical acumen, and understand full-funnel marketing from brief to execution.  This role supports process and operation efficiencies while driving strategy.  Team leadership, people management, coaching and development are an integral part of the role.

  • Leads team to deliver on-site traffic driving strategies for marketing campaigns, offers, programs and experiences aligned to clear objectives and key results
  • Utilizes digital data and analytics to drive continuous improvement; challenges the status quo
  • Utilizes customer data to lead cross-functional teams into prioritizing solutions with the goal of continuously improving our digital C-sat scores
  • Lead Site Marketing team in partnering with Product Management, UX, Creative and Marketing to deliver testing priorities
  • Fosters a systems thinking approach to inform future tool and processes that will empower the team
  • Establishes processes and best practices to create, maintain and communicate Site Marketing process documentation where needed
  • Leads team to identify and act upon areas of opportunity utilizing Great Operator principles
  • Establishes best practices in analyzing and reporting campaign and marketing results with a focus on proactive next steps for future.
  • Partner with the broader Digital Merchandising team to lead monthly business performance reviews, evaluating performance to plan, execution across merchandising, marketing, and testing with clear actions for developing future strategy direction.
  • Leads cross divisional process improvement efforts that result in organizational efficiencies and cost savings enabling the business to scale for growth.
  • Collaborates closely with internal team to identify areas of opportunity and growth through utilizing existing and future tools (Algonomy, Engage, etc)
  • Facilitates empowerment and growth of direct reports. Conducts performance management and progress review. Delivers coaching, development and regular feedback to team members.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills including the ability to foster teamwork and manage change.
Bring your passion and expertise
  • 7+ years strategic planning experience as part of eCommerce and or Marketing team.
  • 5+ years direct supervisory experience of eCommerce team
  • 5+ years web analytics experience including a solid understanding of web metrics, testing methodology and optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated success establishing and implementing marketing and merchandising strategies and tactics on a web site for a multi-channel retailer.
  • Demonstrated experience in balancing the creative aspects of building effective on-line customer experiences while achieving the quantitative demands of cross-channel sales.
  • Knowledge of key merchandising, marketing business principles specific to web-based merchandising and the ability to apply these principles to achieve planned goals.
  • Experience working with content management systems to update website pages.
  • BA in Business or Marketing preferred.
  • Experience in managing external vendors and partner relationships.
  • Experience in process management.
  • Excellent cross functional project management skills
  • Proven experience building and maintaining strong, collaborative, cross divisional business relationships

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, REI provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.

The pay for this role is: $95,000 to $200,000 per year

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
