As the Sr. Marketing Strategist, Membership, you will lead the marketing strategy to bring Membership to life across channels and marketing campaigns, to acquire new members, and engage and delight current members. 

  • Author annual marketing strategy for the REI Membership program and related benefits, programs, and initiatives. 
  • Develop tools, including messaging frameworks, communication hierarchy and inputs to campaign strategy to align the work of marketing teams against a clear target customer, objectives, and strategies. 
  • Key stakeholder in creative work to bring strategic insights to life in powerful and emotional creative expressions. 
  • Work with teams across the Co-op to build a cohesive customer-facing marketing plan to deliver on objectives. Assess the effectiveness of marketing messages and strategies, managing pivots based on learnings, and leading marketing tests as needed. 
  • Collaborate with Customer Insights to identify consumer research needs, analyzes and applies those insights to ongoing strategy development. 
  • Build an in depth understanding of the customer, drawing on custom research, syndicated research, internal analytics data and desktop research. 
  • Works with business partners and customer insights to define customer problems to solve and articulate customer need states, jobs to be done and mindsets. 
  • Continue to seek new customer insights to learn and improve the marketing strategy. 
  • Evangelize both marketing strategy process and specific strategies across the organization. 
  • Create compelling presentation materials to communicate the strategy and create cross-divisional and leadership visibility to the marketing plan. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in marketing strategy. May consult with or mentor other business teams and marketing team partners.
Bring your passion and expertise
  • 7+ years’ experience in a marketing strategy, loyalty, or innovation role. 
  • 3+ years of experience developing marketing strategies and marketing plans that deliver awareness, conversion, and retention. 
  • Loyalty experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of customer insights. 
  • Constantly curious about the customer and seeks out formal research and informal learning opportunities. 
  • Fluency with translating qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights and making sound, insight-based recommendations. 
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Able to distill complex information into a succinct POV and compelling presentation materials to effectively communicate strategies. 
  • High degree of collaboration and demonstrated ability to influence others across the organization at all levels. 
  • Skilled at problem solving, gaining alignment to a vision and socializing strategy across an organization. 
  • MBA preferred

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, REI provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.

The pay for this role is: $85,000 to $170,000 per year

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
