IT’S AN EXCITING TIME TO BE A PART OF THE CO-OP, AS WE OPEN NEW STORES IN 2021-2022!


At REI, we aspire to be the heart of outdoor life and culture in our communities. As we expand our presence into these new locations, we look forward to connecting with the outdoor community, welcoming new and existing members to the co-op, and providing them with great outdoor gear and experiences.

Please see the following details, for more information regarding our upcoming new store openings in 2021-2022 (subject to change).

(PLEASE NOTE: Hourly Store Roles for each location will post a few months prior to opening. Exact hiring timelines & dates will be shared on rei.jobs, once available).


NEW STORE LOCATIONS & TIMELINES:

  • Santa Cruz, California: Opening in Fall 2021. Job Opportunities will post in late Summer for Fall Opening.

  • Palm Beach Gardens, FL: Opening in Spring 2022.  Job Opportunities will post for early Winter for a Spring Opening.

  • Tallahassee, FLOpening in Spring 2022. Job Opportunities will post in early Winter for a Spring Opening.

OPPORTUNITIES:

Our Retail Store Roles are part and full-time roles supporting customer service, sales floor, back of house operations, and bike/ski shops. 

Retail Department Sales Managers 
to lead our team of inspired guides in an assigned department in the store.  This role reports into the Store Manager. Join a group of optimistic outsiders who take on the impossible together. 

Retail Store Support/Operations Leads to help support the management team with accounting responsibilities, office, frontline, hiring and onboarding support and store communications.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

  1. Apply for the role online (once the role is posted)
  2. Complete a digital HireVue video interview
  3. Hiring managers will review video submissions and will make their decision on candidates for the final step, which is a phone interview.

NEW YORK CORRECTION LAW
ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
