CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Experiences Field Supervisor - Austin, TX
This job contributes to REI’s success by leading REI experiences by directly supervising and mentoring REI Local Experiences teams, events, and programs. This position will ensure program development and scheduling, risk management, operations for all local programming, oversee land management agency partnerships.  Supervisors will be responsible for day-to-day staff management and scheduling, ensuring the successful delivery of programming content and the safety of all participants in the field, while providing excellent customer service, REI branding, and role modeling for all members of the local team.  Additional responsibilities include overseeing equipment maintenance, coordinating programming and event logistics, and ensure permitting prior to programs. Other duties include serving as staff trainer, performing administrative duties, working with store management teams, communicating with customers and local business/community partners, and conducting field assessment of classes and guides. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission. 

Experiences Program Manager, Business Development 
This position is responsible for developing and managing the processes that support regional teams in executing business-to-business (B2B) sales of REI’s Experiences (inclusive of guided trips, outdoor classes, and gear rentals) establishing success metrics, and evaluating regional performance. The Program Manager for Regional Business Development is the connection between teams in the field and marketing support within REI headquarters. This team member works with the Experiences product team and the regions to set a product and pricing strategy for B2B programs that enables regions to respond to B2B sales leads and proactively pursue new business. The program manager works closely with both Regional Business Development Managers and Regional Experiences Managers to set annual marketing plans and sales goals for each region and create conditions for success.

The Regional Experience Manager- Southeast may be remotely located in one of two markets: Asheville, NC or Atlanta, GA. Some travel is required for this position. This job contributes to REI’s success by leading and growing REI’s regional outdoor experiences. The Regional Manager is based in the field and responsible for defining the regional experiences business strategy and driving business growth for the experiences portfolio inclusive of Day and Multi-Day programs, and Activity Sites.  This role oversees program operations, coordinates and leads regional teams, implements corporate initiatives, and serves as main point of contact for program risk management at the regional level. The Regional Manager will partner with Retail Directors and Local Brand Engagement Managers to develop REI’s local and regional customer approach and strategy – aligned with business goals and objectives

Experiences Regional Manager- Midwest (Chicago, IL- Twin Cities, MN)
This job contributes to REI’s success by leading and growing REI’s regional outdoor experiences. The Regional Manager is based in the field and responsible for defining the regional experiences business strategy and driving business growth for the experiences portfolio inclusive of Day and Multi-Day programs, and Activity Sites.  This role oversees program operations, coordinates and leads regional teams, implements corporate initiatives, and serves as main point of contact for program risk management at the regional level. The Regional Manager will partner with Retail Directors and Local Brand Engagement Managers to develop REI’s local and regional customer approach and strategy – aligned with business goals and objectives

Experiences Strategic Growth Coordinator 

This job contributes to the success of REI’s Experiences team by supporting the implementation of new Experiences portfolios and delivery formats. This role builds and supports tools, resources, and processes that enable scaled Experiences growth in support of the strategic agenda. This role works closely with the Strategic Growth Program Managers & Analysts, as well as Experiences Project Managers to support the launch of new experiences portfolios and delivery formats.

Multi Day Guide- Phoenix, AZ- Backpacking and/or Cycling (road and mountain)

This job contributes to REI’s success by leading groups of clients on multiday outdoor adventure trips across the country. Adventure trips may include activities such as hiking, backpacking, road cycling, and mountain biking with accommodation styles ranging from basic camping to high-end lodge-based trips. Multi-day guides are professional guides committed and focused on providing unparalleled customer service, food quality, well researched and delivered local interpretation, and have the skill and demeanor to facilitate a safe and fun experience for our guests. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Operations Coordinator, Workforce Operations
This job contributes to REI’s success by supporting national operations for Co-op Experiences. This role will work closely with field teams, Operations Program Supervisors, and other Coordinators to plan, implement and manage operational programs. The role will specialize in workforce operations, systems operations, and internal communications. 

Operations Coordinator- Permits
This job contributes to REI's success by collaborating on, and developing, processes that ladder up to REI's Experience Department objectives and key results in customer satisfaction and employee engagement.  As part of the Experiences Operations team, you will need to be driven by process building, a laser focus on the customer, and make data-driven decisions to deliver results. The Permits, Access, and Facilities Operations team support the full suite of Co-op Experiences: outdoor classes, day tours, multi-day adventure travel, and field rentals.

Outdoor Programming Senior Instructor - Austin, TX

Over the next 2 years we are working together toward doubling the number of participants we engage through inspiring outdoor experiences while also tightening REI’s connection in the local community. In this role, you would contribute to REI’s success by serving as a lead for local outdoor school instruction and operations.

    NEW YORK CORRECTION LAW
    ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
    LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

    §753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

    1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

    (a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

    (b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

    (c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

    (d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

    (e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

    (f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

    (g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

    (h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

    2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
