The Associate Technical Producer contributes to REI’s success by authoring, scheduling, and launching content on REI.com using our CMS and related tools. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of web content management and publishing systems and familiarity with CMS workflows, ecommerce site architecture and folder structures, HTML, CSS and related libraries (Bootstrap), JavaScript and related libraries (JQuery, Riot, etc). They should be passionate about development and have aspirations to grow into a more technical role.

The Associate Technical Producer executes the creation and maintenance of the HTML, CSS and JavaScript for existing pages, new projects and emerging programs through a content management and publishing tool. This person will need to deliver projects on time, which adhere to project requirements with standards-compliant code. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Bring your passion and expertise

  • 2+ years’ experience in hand coding, proofing and troubleshooting standards-compliant HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g. jQuery, BootStrap, Riot, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CMS workflows, ecommerce site architecture and folder structures
  • Experience with the utilization of APIs.
  • Experience integrating tracking and other analytics tags into websites.
  • Motivated to work with a team to make compelling, innovative, user-friendly websites. 
  • Experience working with web content management and publishing systems.
  • Four-year degree in technical field (ex: Computer Science, Information Systems) or related training or equivalent work experience preferred. 
  • Experience working on large websites, with many interconnected systems. 
  • Familiarity with eCommerce and retail processes with a proven track record of using technology to develop creative solutions for complex business objectives.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve site issues quickly. 
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.
  • Strong knowledge of related disciplines such as user experience, interaction design and brand communications
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to promote open communication and teamwork
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, identify, and execute innovative solutions for digital production challenges.

ARTICLE 23-A, Section 753
LICENSURE AND EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ONE OR MORE CRIMINAL OFFENSES

§753. Factors to be considered concerning a previous criminal conviction; presumption.

1. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall consider the following factors:

(a) The public policy of this state, as expressed in this act, to encourage the licensure and employment of persons previously convicted of one or more criminal offenses.

(b) The specific duties and responsibilities necessarily related to the license or employment sought or held by the person.

(c) The bearing, if any, the criminal offense or offenses for which the person was previously convicted will have on his fitness or ability to perform one or more such duties or responsibilities.

(d) The time which has elapsed since the occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(e) The age of the person at the time of occurrence of the criminal offense or offenses.

(f) The seriousness of the offense or offenses.

(g) Any information produced by the person, or produced on his behalf, in regard to his rehabilitation and good conduct.

(h) The legitimate interest of the public agency or private employer in protecting property, and the safety and welfare of specific individuals or the general public.

2. In making a determination pursuant to section seven hundred fifty-two of this chapter, the public agency or private employer shall also give consideration to a certificate of relief from disabilities or a certificate of good conduct issued to the applicant, which certificate shall create a presumption of rehabilitation in regard to the offense or offenses specified therein.
